Business meets Hanse Sail 2022

The famous business meeting "Business meets Hanse Sail" in the context of the Hanse Sail brought together decision makers, entrepreneurs, personalities from economy and politics as well as top-class guests in the Hanseatic city on August 12th and 13th.

VIA.MENTO was present at the reception of the Gesellschaft für Wirtschafts- und Technologieförderung Rostock mbH (Rostock Business) on Friday to establish regional and national business contacts and to make new acquaintances. In a pleasant atmosphere thoughts could be exchanged and new ideas could be developed. We thank the hosts for the great organization.

Hanse Sail Business Forum 2022

Energy policy and energy economy were the dominant topics at this year's Hanse Sail Business Forum.

Under the slogan "Climate neutral empowered into the future - How the economic change can succeed", representatives from economy, politics and administration traditionally met on the opening day of the Hanse Sail to exchange their views on current issues.

The obvious topic this year is of course the energy supply. Minister President Manuela Schwesig emphasized that the conversion to renewable energies is a major challenge for the companies in the state. But also a great opportunity. Around 15,000 people are employed in the renewable energy sector in MV. In addition, the state produces about twice as much green energy as it consumes. She highlighted the importance of becoming truly independent in the area of energy supply, energy security and affordability. Current experience has clearly shown that.

Nevertheless, she said, energy supplies must now be secured as quickly as possible using oil and gas as transitional technologies. This was also reiterated by the business representatives. Companies need reliable and affordable energy supplies as a basic requirement for keeping companies in the country.

In discussions on the sidelines of this meeting, VIA.MENTO was able to engage in a lively exchange of information with other companies and representatives of research and development on the subject of renewable energies, their application and cooperation.

Happy New Year

VIA.MENTO at the IT - Career Night

On November the 17th 2021, future IT specialists met with interesting employers from the state of Mecklenburg Vorpommern in the Konrad-Zuse-Haus at the University of Rostock for the IT - Career Night.

Over the course of about 6 hours, a wide selection was offered from the most diverse specialist areas of IT. There were various formats, from lectures to workshops to live hacking events. During the event, the participating companies presented themselves in the form of creative pitches. Generous breaks provide space for networking with snacks and drinks in a dynamic environment.

VIA.MENTO was also present at this great event. We were able to have interesting conversations and make contacts with several potential business partners.

We congratulate the organisers and hosts on this very successful format and we already look forward to the next career night.

Industry Congress 2021 - VIA.MENTO was present

On October the 13th, the In|du|strie Congress 2021 took place at the Störtebeker Braumanufaktur in Stralsund. The event, hosted by the three Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, was held this year under the headline: "Industry 4.0 - Digitisation as the key for success".

According to Klaus-Jürgen Strupp, President of the Rostock Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fourth industrial revolution offers great potential: "Around 65,000 jobs directly and indirectly depend on the manufacturing industry in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The digitalisation of industry will not only change value creation processes, it will also create new business models and new perspectives for employees.

Minister President Manuela Schwesig paid tribute to industrial development and expressed her commitment to the industrial policy concept "Industrial State Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 2030", which can only be successfully implemented in close cooperation between business, politics, administration and associations.

In addition to further presentations on the potential and opportunities of automation, AI and Industry 4.0 as well as the fields of action of the industrial policy concept, a panel discussion on practical examples and active networking completed the successful event.

VIA.MENTO actively supports the industrial policy concept "Industrial State Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 2030". With our consultations, services, cooperations and joint project developments on the bioeconomy and recycling economy, the EU Green Deal, in the support of SMEs in the "promotion of entrepreneurial know-how", in cooperation on research and development, digitisation strategies, infrastructure development, alternative energies in many individual projects with research and teaching as well as companies from industry, trade and commerce and agriculture and forestry, we create entrepreneurial success.

Together we are innovative. integrated. sustainable - let's have a conversation.

VIA.MENTO shares information on important topics at the 30th MeLa in Mühlengeez

VIA.MENTO consulted visitors at the MeLa on the following topics:

Biomass - production and utilisatio
n

o Composting / Soil
o AMQA
o Vertical Farming / Container Solutions

Energy

o Wind Turbines
o Energy Storage Systems

The expert forum of the 30th Mecklenburg Agricultural Exhibition offered the perfect opportunity to present "smart solutions" for companies in terms of process optimisation and digitisation.

Dipl.-Agrar Ing. (FH) Hans-Günter Stiewe spoke in his presentation "preparing accounting in agriculture" about the possibilities of digitisation in agricultural companies to simplify work processes in finance.

Hans-Günter Stiewe: Preparatory Accounting in Agriculture - Possibilities of Digitisation to Simplify Processes

Dirk Schnegelsberg: Agriculture in the next 20 years - Challenges and Opportunities

Dirk Schnegelsberg, on the other hand, gave an outlook on how the economy could change in the next 20 years. What challenges and opportunities farmers will face and how they can use them for their own benefit.

Dirk addressed the problems of overfertilisation and the resulting loss of irreplaceable raw materials as well as the eutrophication of water areas and their solutions. He also shed light on the fact that domestic production can become a problem for farmers due to competition from abroad, climate change and the short production times per year. The topic of vertical farming plays a major role here in order to provide relief and unrecognised opportunities for the regional economy and to make the farmer more flexible. On the subject of securing energy for one's own business, Dirk Schnegelsberg encourages the production of CO2-negative biomethane and CO2 recycling, and goes into detail about the recycling systems.

In the third presentation of the day, Dipl.-Ing. Ronald Metzig from Benning Elektrotechnik und Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG reported on the sensible use of UPS energy storage systems in the agricultural environment.

Consumers are protected from power disruptions by the UPS (uninterruptible power supply), while at the same time the system handles load management tasks and thus generates a high additional financial benefit. Smart load management ensures the increase of security and efficiency of the power supply with a sustainable reduction of operational costs. With this solution, users make their company independent of rising electricity charges, says Ronald Metzig.

Ronald Metzig: Use of UPS Energy Storage Systems in the Agricultural Environment

The expert forum was hosted by our partner Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Jens Opitz and organised by our executive managing director Dipl.-Ing. Anne Weber.

We are looking forward to give educational presentations at the next fair and would like to thank the MeLa project team for the great organisation.

We will be happy to extend our consulting focus in workshops and training sessions with you on the following topics:

o Digitisation
o Process Optimisation
o Business Development
o Bioeconomy
o Biomass Production
o Material Recycling
o Linking Sectors

Don't wait any longer and arrange a meeting with us today. We will be happy to assist you.

About the 30th MeLa 2021

VIA.MENTO at the 30th MeLa from September 16-19, 2021

VIA.MENTO was represented at the Mecklenburg Agricultural Exhibition for the first time ever. Together with its network of experts, the aim was to promote the development and implementation of new revenue models for agricultural producers, using innovative technologies. In addition, the plan was to encourage environmental protection and to present renewable energies in the form of socially strong 1MW wind turbines and the associated customisable power supply and storage system for flexible energy optimisation.

The VIA.MENTO booth met with particular interest among the visitors. Many noteworthy contacts with potential for future cooperation were made, leaving a promising outlook. All in all, only positive impressions were gained at the fair in Mühlengeez, suggesting that many projects with agricultural companies can be successfully worked on in the coming years.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Dr. Till Backhaus, visited our stand and discussed with us the topic of how healthy soil can serve as a partial contribution to the strengthening of plants from green waste utilisation and their high share in decarbonisation, i.e. the shifting away from carbon. After all, the burning of coal, natural gas or oil releases carbon and this reaches the earth's atmosphere as CO2. In the atmosphere, it causes the dangerous greenhouse effect and ultimately the warming of the Earth's climate.

VIA.MENTO would like to thank all participants for their great support and good discussions throughout the entire duration of the fair. We look forward to seeing you again!

Husum Wind 2021

Fair presence at Husum Wind 2021

Due to the high frequency of events and fairs, VIA.MENTO and German Sustainables GmbH were equally challenged to ensure its presence. VIA.MENTO shareholder Jens Opitz represented us within sustainability subjects for the market roll-out of a 1MW socially responsible and vertical wind turbine at Husum Wind.

In return, VIA.MENTO represented the 1MW wind turbine at MeLa 2021 to show agricultural producers in Mecklenburg Vorpommern ways to new revenues as CRITIS* partners within the interconnection of decentrally generated and stored energy.

*Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) are organisations or facilities of vital importance to the state community that take measures if the failure or impairment of which would result in lasting supply bottlenecks, significant disruptions to public safety or other dramatic consequences.

The awareness of components for waste avoidance is now also anchored in the team for the preparation of the stand.

Hanse Sail Business Forum 2021

On August the 5th 2021, the 20th Hanse Sail Business Forum took place in the Stadthalle Rostock under the motto:

"Climate neutrality and sustainable business in the Baltic Sea region - opportunities for companies from MV".

The Rostock Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Rostock-Middle Mecklenburg Business Association, the enterprise europe network and the Chamber of Trade of Ostmecklenburg-Vorpommern invited guests to this conference. It was an event that impressed, both in terms of content and organisation and setting. The speakers and attendees of the presentations and discussions were in agreement that sustainable management and joint, coordinated action between all parties involved are essential. The course is now being set that will influence the future of generations to come. We want to live up to our responsibility and see the climate crisis as an opportunity to positively reshape the development of the economy, technology, politics and life in the long run.

VIA.MENTO shareholders Anne Weber and Jens Opitz were invited to attend.

Wind Energy Cluster MV IPCEI Programmes

VIA.MENTO was represented at this event by our partner Jens Opitz, who is responsible for technology and innovation. We will be happy to explain our goal of advising and supporting companies in new value creation and revenue models of tomorrow along the bioeconomy and finding suitable cooperation partners and secure new ideas with suitable financing and financial investors, in a personal meeting.

We are currently making a special contribution to supporting the federal government's Green Hydrogen Programme within the context of PtX/PtL E-Kerosene for the market launch in the IPCEI outside MV.

But also other current topics, such as CO₂ negative balances from green waste, "Treibsel" and municipal waste as part of the added CRITIS components within the material-electricity cycle balances for future interconnections are currently playing an important role in local environments.

In this context, our activities for new value chains extend into rural areas to include the agricultural sector as a partner beyond livestock and plant production for KRITIS assurance. (Wind-PV-Biomass-Solar thermal energy plus storage Battery-H₂-LOHC for event-controlled regions with AI for energy).

IPCEI: LARGE-SCALE HYDROGEN PROJECTS IN MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN

On 3 August 2021, local industry representatives met in the Viehhalle in Güstrow to exchange information on the current status of the hydrogen IPCEI projects in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In cooperation with the Hydrogen Transfer Office of the Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitalisation, the Wind Energy Cluster MV was able to present a summary of the four projects.

Dr. Tom Rückborn from Windenergiecluster MV also explained the general terms of the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI). He provided an insight on the projects in MV, how they are linked to each other and how they could be further connected with projects in other partner countries.

The moderator of the evening, Michael Fengler, led a lively discussion with Energy Minister Christian Pegel, the project representatives and the audience on the IPCEI projects, regional value chains and the key success factors.

At the end, the common understanding of the importance of cross-regional, particularly pan-European, networking between the actors for a successful implementation of the hydrogen projects in MV as well as a fulfilment of the principle of the IPCEI funding clearly emerged.
